Snow Disruption January 2009

Update Wednesday January 8th 2009 7pm.
Heavy snow fell last night but once again a big thank you to all our staff who all came to work and cleared the snow from the yard meaning once again we were fully open but many factories were not so we had a quiet day. Despite this we still operated our night shift tonight and we will hope for a busier day tomorrow with more factories open.

Update Tuesday January 12th 2009 7am.
To date we have been fully open and have been able to fulfil all our customers needs. Thanks to the commitment of our staff we have had 100% staff attendance meaning no services have yet been cancelled. We have 2 vehicles equipped with snow chains so if you have urgent freight we are sure we can meet your needs whilst maintaining our driver and public safety.

Raven Express Logistics is a strong and dependable business and you can be assured that your freight is in safe hands. Our recent history has put us in a good position to forge ahead with our business plans, so despite the current economic climate, we're continuing to successfully implement our strategy, investing in new vehicles and trailers and also in improved IT, delivering tracking of freight and instant POD's via Truckcom.

We have recently started trucking and handling for Servisair in Cardiff Airport and look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership by providing responsive, reliable and cost effective solutions to Servisair customers.

We are also happy to welcome Circle Express to our list of growing customers providing Circle Express with improved trucking capability within South Wales and giving us access to a truly nationwide distribution network. We now visit West Wales on a daily basis and have the freight in Heathrow that evening.

ON THE MOVE
Raven Express is once again a company on the move - providing a comprehensive transport and distribution service for freight forwarders and airlines. Established in 1982 by John Stevenson, the company was set up to provide an efficient and reliable link between Cardiff International Airport and London Heathrow. As the industry has changed, Raven Express has also developed to ensure that the service too moves with the times. Now providing Enhanced Remote Transit Shed (ERTS) facilities at Cardiff International Airport we can collect your freight directly from the airlines in LHR and deliver to you or your customers without the freight ever having to leave our care. This minimised the risks of damage in transit and gives you just one point of contact throughout its UK road journey. Together with our night truck times this gives us a significant competitive edge over our competitors and to you gives you the opportunity to have your consignments delivered to your customers the morning following arrival in the country. A valuable service that we know can not be provided by our competitors.

Our comprehensive vehicle fleet is managed by Chris Wood, who knows what the customer wants in terms of transport. Raven Express has the right vehicle for every job, whatever it might be fully equipped and ready to go. The Company's premises are spacious, secure and situated within Cardiff International Airport.

Company founder John Stevenson's son Justin now manages the operation and oversees the ERTS, long or short term storage and logistical sides of the business. We are now also able to offer urgent delivery of freight arriving by charter into Cardiff International Airport. Whatever time the flight is landing we can be on hand to deliver wherever you need. THE DRIVING FORCE
Raven Express has the right vehicle for the job. The company has invested in proven workhorses that are equipped to carry any cargo and to provide the driving force behind the business. Our impressive fleet Comprises of three Artics, one 16 tonner, two 7.5 tonners and two Sprinter vans. Our trailers are fitted with Air Ride Roller Beds allowing consignments to be loaded and unloaded quickly and easily, still inside the aircraft cargo bins. Our curtain sided trucks and high top vans complete the range of capable vehicles available for collection and onward distribution of your important freight. Our Scania Artics are now famous for their distinctive livery and mention Raven Express to anybody in the Industry and they will often make reference to the "Black Scania's with the white writing". An image we are certainly proud of but we also like to mention that a large part of our fleet is comprises Mercedes Benz vehicles about which we are equally proud. All of our vehicles are fully dealer serviced and maintained in line with industry standards. All our drivers a fully trained to Aviation security level 4 or more recently B or D and are familiar with the procedures for transporting a variety of cargos. We believe that our fleet of vehicles provides the capacity and flexibility to ensure speed, efficiency and security.
